In what is the most outrageous abuse of Federal Mandatory Minimum sentences in America Weldon Angelos was sentenced to 55 years in prison for selling pot to a police informant.
This blog will serve as an action center. We intend to identify the correct pressure points in relation to raising Weldon's case and because all of his appeals are exhausted and the Supreme Court has refused to hear his case then his only hope is a Presidential commutation which we intend to lobby for.
We have no doubt this will be difficult. President Obama's record on commutations and pardons is worse than any of his predecessors but we hope with persistence we can reach the right people within the Federal government to make our case and who knows maybe one day it will reach Obama or Holder's desk.
